About the KISJ
Our Vision, Mission, and Principles
The King’s International Security Journal (KISJ) aims to engage students and faculty in applying academic insights to critical concerns of human, environmental, gender, cyber/AI, and economic security.
The Journal hopes its publications will inspire lawyers, policymakers, and leaders to prioritize human rights and world safety. The Journal’s motto is “Knowledge In The Service Of Humanity”
Recruitment is highly selective as the Journal ensures academic rigor. All applicants must submit a writing sample demonstrating excellent literacy competencies and enthusiasm for international security. The Journal celebrates diversity in all its forms and actively encourages individuals of every background, identity, and ability to apply. The Journal will provide all needed accommodations.
The Journal is written mostly by students but welcomes papers from professors and professionals. Every writer chooses a security section and is assigned an associate editor. The Journal publishes essays, articles, op-eds, and reviews. The Editor-in-Chief, together with the Co-Managing Editor and Faculty Advisor, makes all editorial and organizational decisions. The Journal publishes twice a year, in December and June.
